SecureMap

SecureMap addresses advanced geospatial security needs by providing an ArcIMS administrator with an easy-to-use interface whereby they can create security profiles assigning map service and layer level access privileges to LDAP user groups. Once implemented, the layers that a user can see will be controlled by their user account privileges. The same web site will serve up different views of the data depending on the user logon. No special programming required.

SecureMap has four main components:

  1. SecureMap GUI allows the administrator to create security profiles assigning map services and layers to LDAP groups.
  2. Logger records all map requests by user.
  3. Authentication engine authenticates each session to the network LDAP server.
  4. Entitlement engine ensures that users only can view the layers in their security profile.
